ケータイ小説 (cell phone stories)

In Japan the so called cell phone stories are getting quite popular. Last semester we read a text about them, and it's basically a kind of story, where the readers get a say while the story is written. They help the author and kind of write the story with the author.
Japanese stories often contain something sad - often, someone close to the main character is dying or already dead. But because the readers write the story with the author, these cell phone stories often have a nice and happy ending, luckily.
